About Jill

Having moved back from Montreal, Quebec, Jill Keech now resides in Edmonton, Alberta and is enjoying friendly faces and photographic memories.  Always having a flare for the arts and creativity, she expressed her artistic interest through photography, dance, and hairstyling.

After completing her University degree with a Clothing and Textiles major, she then decided to pursue one of her passions, photography.  She went on to complete a three year photography program and loves seeing the world through her lens.  She’s inspired by light, colours, textures and well, just the simple things in life.

Her photographs have a fine art feeling to them with a romantic vintage twist.  She loves capturing creative, expressive, candid moments and she strives to infuse beauty and joy into her photographs.

Artist Statement

In this complex world, I appreciate the simple things.  Sometimes these things are the most remarkable.

My photographs are typically declarations of beautiful moments and thoughtful memories. My intention is not to simply record, but to create an expression of pure portrayals of life. I use photography to reflect and capture the celebrations and wonder of these moments. 

I take inspiration from light, textures, experiences and my curiosity of tomorrow.  Each subject and the unique mood of each individual photograph determine my personal style.  My interest is not in what is new or popular, but rather what endures and is graceful, tender and lovely.
